| Research Project Description | We are currently running the massively parallel cosmological code Gadget3 on a 100000 cores at NICS, Tennessee, which includes gravity, hydrodynamics, star formation, cooling and feedback processes over large dynamical scales. Our current efforts include optimizing and scaling the code for even larger runs as well as analysing the vast amount of data that is generated during the simulation. With all the relevant multi-scale physical proceses that govern structure formation it will give us unprecedented insight into the formation of the first structures and how they regulate the properties of the current genaration of structures that we observe today. |
